The QuickLink system went live on RTÉ and TG4 on the 25th of May 2012. Two different live links to air. The lives were transmitted from Killarney and went straight to air on both channels. The system uses a Merlin Backpack to transmit the video and audio streams via standard 3g mobile internet network.

Riverside Television continues to work with the Quicklink engineers and RTÉ to improve the performance of the system. Keep your eyes peeled quicklink will be going live a lot more often on our national broadcaster.
